Kristina Elise Øvrevoll Søbstad is a Canadian-Norwegian visual artist currently based between Newfoundland and Nova Scotia, Canada. Sobstad earned a BFA from NSCAD University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada and is currently pursuing a Master of Arts at Athabasca University.
Since 2007, Sobstad has participated in over 120 international group and solo exhibitions. In 2015, while exhibiting in
Paris, Søbstad’s work was purchased by the Paris Francophilie Art Bank. Her work has since been
featured on the cover of international, bestselling academic books and her dynamic piece, They Must Be Wild, was
recently purchased by the Provincial Art Bank of Newfoundland and Labrador. Søbstad continues to attend
local and international artist residencies and is currently preparing for a residency at the Museum of
Modern Art in Chiloe, Chile after receiving government funding supporting her project.
2018 solo exhibitions include The Museum of Modern art in Chiloe, Chile, The Christina Parker Gallery in Newfoundland, and Visual Voice in Nova Scotia.
